Sustainable Milton-Parc Durable
This walk will explore some of the ecological and social aspects of the Milton-Parc neighbourhood, renowned for its citizen activism and social innovation. Starting at the Montreal Urban Ecology Centre, we'll hear the story of how two real estate Moghuls planned to redevelop the area into an extension of Montreal's downtown, walk through Canada's largest housing co-op, visit some green lanes, discuss street trees, get a glimpse of some green roofs, see how the urban fabric has been adapted to accommodate more housing, and look for clues of an underground stream.
